First View: Thinkpad X13 of Lenovo-S Amps of Power, Goes Hyper-Drites

Lenovo is showing almost as many new PC devices as possible at MWC 2025 as it did at CES 2025. This time, the company is highlighting its Thinkpad roots.

Eight young Thinkpad and Thinkbook laptops are part of Lenovo’s MWC shed, but let’s focus on two main points: Thinkpad X13 Gen 6, and Thinkpad T14S 2-in-1. These two fresh laptops represent a particularly powerful progress for the Thinkpad X13 line, and a whole new form factor for the Thinkpad T14 series: its first 2-in-1 laptop. Thinkpad X13 Gen 6, starting at $ 1,139, and Thinkpad T14S 2-in-1 with $ 1,719 to begin, will land both in June.

Here is everything else I know so far about these two new laptops, along with a photo tournament of each.

2025 Thinkpad X13: New Levels of Power

2025 Thinkpad X13 Gen 6 looks just as close as you can reach a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 13 while spending about half so much. In fact, X13, with only 2.05 pounds, is even lighter than carbon 2.17 pounds.

Of course, the X1 carbon is thinner, with only 0.56 inches thick, although X13 is not far from only 0.7 inches. I immediately jumped in comparisons of weight and size here because, otherwise, this is simply a thinkpad through and through.

Lenovo’s Thinkpad Peerless Bounder, filled with Trackpoint Signature interface, is also here, located in a shell made of carbon fibers, magnesium and aluminum. The company also kept the “bumps” camera, the elongated part of the screen lid to position the 5-megapixel IR camera without cutting into the real estate.

South of the camera, the 13.3 -inch screen of Lenovo will support the 1200p resolution, touch control and up to 400 bright nits. Rated is estimated to 100% of the SRGB spectrum and will have a low blue light option.

Unlike carbon, however, this model contains the highest audio speakers with a better position supported by the Dolby atmosphere tuning. Near the right speaker, you will find the power button with an integrated fingerprint reader.

Lenovo is packing X13 Gen 6 with two ports Thunderbolt 4, a USB Type-A 3.2 connection, an HDMI Port 2.1, a Jack RJ-45 Ethernet and a standard audio jack. The laptop will also have a host of main wireless options: Wi-Fi 7, Sub6 5G optional, Bluetooth and an NFC reader.

The magic of the sixth generation revision is inside, with the possibility of Intel Core Ultra 200H or 200U processors and AMD Ryzen chips he pro 300-series. Lenovo intends to increase the power profile of X13, and that is the way to do it.

However, it is important to note that ultra processors of the H- and U-series series, with 13 trillion surgeries per second (top) in the nervous processing unit (NPU), have fewer resources dedicated to the processing of it than Ryzen chips he pro 300-series, with 55 NPU. So, while these two options can be comparable in raw laps, AMD chips will simply be more effective in the tasks of the NPU -based tasks.

Lenovo will support those silicone options with up to 64 GB of LPDDDDR5X memory and as many 2TB of storage in rigid condition. All of this will be made possible by your choice of a 41Wh or 54.7Wh replaceable battery, but Lenovo has not yet revealed any figures about the projected battery life.

All said, the new X13 looks like your path to the Thinkpad X1 carbon experience in the free relative.

This new 2-in-1 version of the Thinkpad T14S laptop does not have all those many convertible design kin to the Lenovo Thinkpad product. However, it is a thought at its core. The new 2-in-1 T14S seems, badly, like X13 that I just detailed.

In a metal shell (not carbon fiber as x13), T14S contains the same screen with a screen caps that contain a similar camera (if not the same) 5MP IR, as well as high-fire speakers-not to mention the same trail interface on the laptop key. T14S even includes a fingerprint scanner on the power button that looks almost identical to the implementation of the X13 model.

However, this laptop has a slightly larger 14-inch glass touch screen, 1200p with 500 glossy nits, 100% Srgb color cover and blue eye light protection. Lenovo will sell an optional magnetic yoga pen for more accurate hand logs and design along with the laptop.

Being a 2-in-1 laptop, the Thinkpad T14S is of course thicker and heavier than comparable ultraport laptops. However, at 0.9 inches at its thicker point and weighs 3.28 pounds, T14S is not pushing it as a hyper-portable laptop.

Lenovo benefited from Z-height and extra weight, equipping T14S with two ports Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A 3.2 connections, one HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet and a standard audio outlet. Like the above system, this laptop connects wireless using Wi-Fi 7, Sub6 5g optional, Bluetooth and a NFC reader.

Inside, Lenovo wrapped in similar options of the Intel Core Ultra 7 200h- and 200U processor, although the company has not been more specific than that. You can expect high high level performance from those chips, but their performance will be missing compared to the latest AMD options. (The focus here is on general efficiency and performance, rather than the muscles of it.)

Lenovo will support those memory processors up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X joined and as much as 2TB of storage storage. The system will rely on a 58Wh battery recommended by the user, but the company has not issued any claims of battery life for T14S 2-in-1.

Lenovo meets the portfolio of his work car ready

Notifications to Lenovo MWC here can excite independent contractors and fleet managers, with a worthy alternative to the company’s flag business laptop and a whole new type of ThinkPad T14. They expect both products to fall in June, with our full estimates not far away.

However, Lenovo has some other Thinkpad and Thinkbook products lined up for 2025. Here is the whole stack, with the time of release followed by Lenovo’s estimated price for the basic model:

  • Lenovo Thinkpad X13 Gen 6: June 2025, starting at $ 1,139

  • Lenovo Thinkpad T14S 2-in-1: June 2025, starting at $ 1,719

  • Lenovo Thinkpad T14S Gen 6: June 2025, starting at $ 1,674

  • Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 6: May 2025, starting at $ 1,359

  • Lenovo Thinkpad T16 Gen 4: May 2025, starting at $ 1,623

  • Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 7: Q2 2025, starting at $ 849

  • Lenovo Thinkpad E16 Gen 3: Q2 2025, starting at $ 859

  • Lenovo Thinkbook 14 2-In-Gen 5: Q2 2025, starting at $ 1,374

Save for some possible distances that we can see later in Q3 and Q4 of this year, Lenovo seems to have all the bases covered in the front of the business for 2025, from high-level flags to middle or budget prices (but powerful) and 2. Back in the spring and early summer for tested reviews of a number of these laptops for the office.
